Oops! Japan #19 — Google Maps Isn’t Always King

(Googleマップを過信するな)Why Your Train May Take You the Long Way Around 「快速」じゃなかった!? 観光客が迷う電車トラップ

English: Google Maps is helpful, but not foolproof in Japan. Here's what often trips people up:

Platform numbers may be wrong. Always double-check station signs.

Train companies share stations. A JR train and a private line might leave from the same place but go entirely different directions.

“Rapid” vs. “Local” vs. “Limited Express” is a serious issue. Take the wrong one, and you’ll crawl through every stop like it’s a scenic tour.

It took one traveler two days to figure out why their “10-minute ride” kept turning into 40. Don't be them.

日本語の補足: Googleマップは便利ですが、「各駅停車」と「快速」「特急」の違いや、駅を共用する複数の鉄道会社の存在などに注意が必要です。表示されたホーム番号が違うこともあります。
